On April 30, 2020, the GNBEU was officially recognized by the Massachusetts Department of Labor Relations.
On May 21, 2020, the NB City Council recognized the GNBEU with a public declaration of support on the steps of city hall.
On May 27, 2020, the GNBEU passed its founding set of bylaws with an overwhelming vote of support.
On July 1, 2020, the GNBEU voted in its first Executive Board and Representative Council.
On July 12, 2020, Unit B of the GNBEU was established.
In August 2021, GNBEU Unit A ratified GNBVT’s first ever union contract.
As of November 2021, GNBEU Units B & C are still in negotiations working for a fair contract.
